Batching/Cup pigs, also called as unidirectional pigs are generally made with 2 or 4 cups attached to the steel mandrel. They are mainly used to separate dissimilar fluids such as gasoline, heating oil, etc.
These pigs are used for gauging the dimensions of the pipeline before the product is launched in the pipeline.
They serve the purpose of light cleaning, line filling, dewatering, batch separation etc.
For short distance batching and dewatering applications, rubber cups of neoprene /nitrile rubber are used.
